From busboy to poet, Langston Hughes grew up to be one of the most well known people in the African American
community. Born in Joplin, Missiouri on Febraury 1, 1902, Hughes' life was a really tough life. His parents were divorced.
However that didn't stop Hughes. In fact that gave him a good backbone to writing poetry. He was also an essayist, journalist. novelist,
playwriter,translator and a columnist.
Hughes died on May 22, 1967.
